Let's get into it!

How To Deep Fry Sausages

If you've never deep-fried before or you are used to cooking your sausages on the pan then you might be overwhelmed about deep-frying them.

We've listed a step by step on how to deep fry your sausages down below.

Ingredients

  • Italian breadcrumbs - around two cups.
  • Three beaten eggs.
  • One pound of sausage of choice.
  • Cooking oil of choice.
  • A cup of parmesan cheese.

Method

  1. First of all, cut your sausage into sections then mix your breadcrumbs and parmesan in a bowl.
  2. Beat the eggs in a separate bowl and start to heat your oil in a pan (enough to cover the sausages).
  3. Dip the sausage pieces in eggs then breadcrumbs deep fry till cooked through, this could take up to 5-10 minutes.

When Are Deep Fried Sausages Cooked?

To check if your deep-fried sausages are cooked you should simply use a meat thermometer, try to avoid cutting them open as all the juices can leak out and cause them to become dry.

It's important to make sure your sausages are cooked all the way through, if not you are at risk of getting a foodborne illness from the undercooked food.

Safety Tips for Deep Frying Sausages

If it's your first-time deep frying food then you need to be making sure you are following some safety precautions to protect yourself, we've listed a few safety tips for deep frying your sausages down below.

  • Pat your sausages - It's important to try and avoid deep-frying wet food, this can cause oil splashes and make it boil over, pat your sausages down beforehand.
  • Don't overfill with oil - Too much oil could cause your fryer to overfill or the sausages to cook unevenly, feel only to the max point.
  • Check the smoke point - Different oils have different smoke points, for example, coconut oil has a lower smoke point than vegetable oil, make sure your oil does not get to this temperature otherwise you could be inhaling toxic smoke.
  • Protect yourself - Oil splashes and can seriously harm someone, wear long-sleeved tops and even gloves when working around these fryers.
  • Dispose of oil well - Dispose of oil anywhere other than your drain, let it cool down first to prevent damage or filter out particles for re-use.

Last Words

Overall, sausages can be deep-fried easily in your oil of choice once dipped in some breadcrumbs and egg, always make sure to check your meat is done before serving and keep an eye on the temperature of your oil to prevent it overcooking or getting to the smoking point.
