How Long to Cook Burgers in an Air Fryer (UK Times by Brand)

TEMP
180-205°C
TIME
10-18 MIN
CORE
75°C

75°C for 30 seconds is one of the FSA’s safe core combinations (standard: 70°C for 2 minutes).

Manufacturer charts for burgers range from 180 to 205°C for 10 to 18 minutes; the 205°C figure is Instant's, on its Grill function. A separate Salter grill-chart figure that gives no temperature is shown apart from that range. The Fryer Guide lists every brand's exact figure below, including two Ninja sources with different levels of detail.

Based on 5 manufacturer sources. Figures last checked 27 September 2026. See the full list of manuals and articles used on this site on the about and methodology page.

Reference figure (separate chart, not blended in above)

Burgers: reference-only figure
Brand Temp Time Shake Amount Model Source
Salter not given 4-6 min not stated 4 patties, 2.5cm thick, fresh beef AeroGrill Pro EK5106 Salter Recipe booklet, p.5
What each source actually says
  • Salter (AeroGrill Pro EK5106): Chart row, page 5: Burgers (beef, fresh) 4 patties HIGH 4-6 mins Flip halfway through cooking source

Salter's grill chart gives a fresh-burger figure with no °C, 4 to 6 minutes on its HIGH setting, flipped halfway through: a different chart (Salter's Grill chart, with settings rather than °C), so it isn't blended into the range above.

Fresh vs frozen

Salter's grill chart gives the only frozen figure used on this page: 10 to 12 minutes on its MEDIUM setting for four frozen patties, flipped halfway through, with no °C given. Ninja's AF400UK row and Salter's grill-chart reference row are for fresh beef burgers; Tower's and Instant's charts don't say whether the burgers are fresh or frozen.

Size and thickness adjustments

Ninja's quick start guide gives 11 to 12 minutes at 190°C for four 125g patties, 2.5cm thick. Tower's manual, labelled 'Hamburger', gives 10 to 15 minutes at 180°C for 100 to 600g. Instant's chart gives 10 to 12 minutes at 205°C on its Grill function, with no weight stated.

Browning and doneness

Burgers are made from minced beef, so bacteria can be mixed throughout the meat rather than sitting on the surface, unlike a whole steak, and need to be cooked all the way through. This site shows 75°C on the readout panel, the FSA's 75°C for 30 seconds figure, one of the combinations equivalent to its main 70°C for 2 minutes standard.

Where brands disagree

Ninja gives two figures at 190°C: its AF400UK quick start guide says 11 to 12 minutes for four 125g patties, and its website chart gives a wider 10 to 18 minutes with no weight stated. Instant's chart runs hottest at 205°C for 10 to 12 minutes on its Grill function.

Frequently asked questions

What temperature should burgers be cooked at in an air fryer?
Sourced figures range from 180°C (Tower) to 205°C (Instant, on its Grill function), with times from 10 to 18 minutes.
How long do frozen burgers take in an air fryer?
Only Salter's grill chart covers frozen burgers on this page: 10 to 12 minutes on its MEDIUM setting for four patties, flipped halfway through, with no °C stated.
Do burgers need flipping halfway through cooking?
Ninja's AF400UK chart carries a general note to shake or toss food often for best results. Salter's grill chart, both fresh and frozen, says to flip halfway through; the other sourced charts don't mention turning.
Why do burger times differ between sources?
The charts give different temperatures, from 180°C (Tower) to 205°C (Instant, Grill function), and different amounts, and Ninja's website chart gives a wider 10 to 18 minute range than its quick start guide's 11 to 12 minutes for four 125g patties. None of the charts explains the differences, so check burgers are cooked through.
