200°C
TIME
15-30 MIN

Par-boiled (Instant): 20-25 min

Manufacturer charts for roasting raw potatoes in an air fryer sit at 200°C for 15 to 30 minutes: Ninja's general roast potato chart starts at 15 minutes, while the raw-wedge rows from Ninja and Salter run 22 to 30 minutes. The Fryer Guide lists Instant's par-boiled method separately because it starts from part-cooked potatoes.

Based on 4 manufacturer sources. Figures last checked 27 September 2026. See the full list of manuals and articles used on this site on the about and methodology page.

Fresh vs frozen

Ninja's manual separately lists a frozen roast potato figure: 700g at 190°C for 20 minutes. The Ninja and Salter figures above are for raw potatoes; Instant's is for par-boiled potatoes and is shown as a separate method.

Size and thickness adjustments

Ninja's fresh figure is based on 1kg cut into 2.5cm wedges, shaken partway through cooking (22 to 26 minutes); Salter's is close at 1.3kg for 25 to 30 minutes, also cut into 2.5cm wedges with 1 tablespoon of oil. Instant's figure (205°C, 20 to 25 minutes) is specifically for par-boiled potatoes, which may explain why its time sits in the middle of the range despite the higher temperature.

Browning and doneness

None of the manuals give a food-safety temperature for potatoes; look for a golden, crisp outside and a soft centre when pierced.

Where brands disagree

Instant's figure (205°C, 20 to 25 minutes) is for par-boiled potatoes, so it is shown as a separate method rather than widening the raw wedge range.
